Subject: Size of HTTPJVMMAXHEAPSIZE and use of servlet applications
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Domino Server
Technical Area: Specification
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Not applicable

Hello all,

Here we were having a discussion about the impact of the HTTPJVMMAXHEAPSIZE Notes.ini parameter to servlet applications like Traveler, xPages, Quickr or WebDAV.

In most documentation, like here http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=0&context=SSKTMJ&context=SSCVRGU&context=SSPQ69&context=SSKTWP&context=SSKTPA&q1=httpjvmmaxheapsize&uid=swg21377202&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&cc=us&lang=en ,
it is menioned to apply only to xPages.

My questions are:
Is that really correct?
What impact may it have on other servlet tools like Traveler and Quickr?
Should I set it as high as possible on these kind of servers of as low as possible?
What are the restrictions of this setting?

Regards,
Peter Roest
